Demolition Derby

It was Cormac's first derby!  He's now officially a Dixon  :)  He did much better than we expected, too.  He didn't seem to mind the loud cars, he was just tired.  He ended up sleeping through the last couple of matches!

It got pretty intense in a couple of the heats.  They had to cut someone out of his car at one point, and luckily the injuries were minor, from what they could tell.

Everyone had a great time, and I'm sure Cormac will like his next derby even more!

Another Wonderful Friday the 13th

Scott and I have been married for five years today.  I don't know how I got so blessed, to get to keep him forever.  He makes me smile, laugh, and love life.  I was madly in love with him the day we got married, but amazingly I love him even more now.  Happy Anniversary, my Scotti!

Stadium of Fire

Scott and I went with our friends Whitney and Jonny to the Stadium of Fire.  The Beach Boys played and it was wicked fun!  I was very impressed -they sounded just as good as they did back in the day (from recordings I've heard... obviously I wasn't around back then...).

The fireworks at the end were AMAZING!  We were covered in ash, but it was worth it.  They rocked the stadium and it was a good thing Cormac wasn't there, he would have been terrified  :)

Fehr Lake

Well it was kind of a drive, but we went out to the High Uintas for a hike this weekend.  It was much cooler than Orem, and a pretty trail.  There were three lakes, but we only made it to the second.  We thought the sign was telling us the total miles to each lake, but it was stacked mileage, so we didn't have time for the last lake.

The trail was pretty rocky, but in a few spots it was swampy and there were wooden trails to walk on.  We didn't stop long at the second lake; Cormac was ready to go home after he had a snack.

Cormac wanted to jump in really bad!

We saw some trees that were losing their bark in huge flakes, hadn't seen it look quite like that before.  Had to stop and take some pictures.  Maybe everyone else won't be impressed, but we thought it was cool  :)

It was a great hike; Cormac was happy, as usual.  He took a short nap, but the wind blew really hard and woke him up.  He was a little cranky after that, but we were almost back to the car.

We came home and had skewers on the bbq -a perfect summer weekend!
