Easter, General Conference and Family

The last couple of weeks have been crazy.  Easter was over General Conference weekend, and I think I liked it that way.  We bought a little more candy than usual, but maybe less than if we'd bought candy for both holidays separately...  maybe.  And we got to have some Billadeaus visit.  Brahms and Sonia came for Conference/Easter/my mom's birthday.  Then my mom went to Hawaii with her friend Diane, and then my dad came for a few days when she got back.

Cormac and Russell LOVED all the extra people (aka attention).  They both loved having their grandparents around to play and help them build things, etc.  They both really like Brahms and Sonia, too.  Cormac is still asking me where they went, about every other day.

So here's their Easter morning:

Grandma brought a couple of Easter presents and one was a book for Russell –and he loved it!  He will sit still for maybe three different books of the dozens we have, so I was pretty excited he liked this one.  He dragged it around and had everyone read it to him.  His new thing is backing up into you, so he can sit on your lap  :)  It’s adorable.  So he was backing up into everyone with that book, and actually sitting through the whole thing.  Hooray!

We had a cake for my mom’s birthday, which didn’t turn out beautiful, but it was yummy.  Cormac really liked helping her blow out the candles.

Sunday we had barbeque chicken sandwiches and I made a cheesecake –which was honestly delicious, not to pat myself on the back!  It was nice to go for a walk in the beautiful weather, and then just play with the kids until it was time for them to go to bed.

We had a pizza party for my parents’ last day here and watched a movie after.  More playing with kids and taking it easy.  All in all, a pretty great family visit.

Cormac keeps asking when Grandma and Grandpa will be coming back.  August is pretty far away for a three-year-old.  The day after they left, Russell kept wandering into the spare room and coming back, looking confused.  So I think it’s safe to say he misses them, too.  Good thing they already have another trip planned!
