Russell's party

Russell turned two, and had a great party! I didn't spend as much time/energy/money as I did on Cormac's party (no decorations, dress-up, games, etc.), because he's so young it wouldn't really be worth it. But I did take his favorite book/show The Gruffalo and make a theme around it.

After lunch, we had a visit from some fun animals, courtesy of the Bean Museum (BYU). The kids loved it! And I saw quite a few of the adults enjoying it, too.

Next we had cake and ice cream. Russell couldn't quite blow the candle out alone, but he loved the attention, and then loved eating it.

We were going to watch The Gruffalo, too, since it's only 30 minutes, but the kids wanted Russell to open his presents, so we just had it playing in the background. And he got such fun stuff! Everyone gave him fun stuff. He especially loved "Arlo" from Brahms and Sonia. He kept saying "yee haw" and trying to ride him, because he's so big! Funny boy.

I think everyone had a good time :)

It was so fun to get our families together to celebrate Russell. He is such a blessing to us. He gives us a run for our money, and really tries our patience, but he is also sweet and loving. He hasn't been sleeping well lately, but it seems like he just doesn't want to be alone... He loves his big brother so much and loves to try and wrestle with him (which Cormac doesn't always love, but he does play with him pretty well overall). Russell loves to give me hugs and kisses, and runs and screams when his dad gets home ("Da-eee!"). He keeps us on our toes, and definitely completes our little family.
